The CIF or Customer Information File number is an 11-digit number that is used as a code to access all the vital information of an account holder, starting from their KYC information and transaction details to their address and contact number. It is a unique identifier that represents all the sensitive information pertaining to an account holder, like their identity documents, PAN, and account details.

If you have an SBI account, you can find your CIF number in the following ways:

  • Check the bottom of the first page of your SBI passbook, just above your account number.
  • Check the first page of your SBI chequebook.
  • Log in to your SBI net banking account and select "Account Summary" on the left menu. Click on "View Nomination and PAN Details" to see your CIF number.
  • Call the SBI customer care helpline at 1800112211 or 18004253800 and provide personal information to verify your identity. You can then ask for your CIF number.
  • Visit the nearest SBI branch and ask for your CIF number.
  • Send an SMS to 09223866666 with the word "MSTMT" in the subject line from your registered mobile number to get an e-statement. Your CIF number will be included in the e-statement.

It is important to note that the CIF number is unique to each account holder and remains unchanged in all situations.
