CNF probability is a feature provided by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) that allows individuals to view the chances of confirmation or reservation against cancellation (RAC) of wait-listed tickets while making bookings for train tickets through IRCTC. It is a percentage value that indicates the probability of getting a confirmed ticket. The CNF probability feature is available on the IRCTC website and mobile application. After logging in, a registered user can check the CNF probability by selecting the train, class, date of journey, and other details. The CNF probability tab appears when the user clicks on the "check availability and fare" option against a selected train. The IRCTC portal directs the user to another page, which displays information on the availability status of a particular train. The user can find the CNF Probability option under the availability section. The percentage value is displayed in three primary colors (Yellow, Red, and Green) . Scores falling under 50% to 65% (Yellow color) imply less surety, and above 65% imply a confirm ticket or berth allotment.
