Coban is a self-adherent wrap used to secure dressings and other devices, compress or protect wound sites, immobilize injuries, and more. It is a cohesive elastic wrap constructed from a nonwoven material and elastic fibers, and its cohesive properties allow the wrap to stick to itself but not to other materials or skin. Coban is available in sterile and nonsterile versions and in a variety of widths and colors to meet different application needs. Due to its elastic qualities, Coban is often used as a compression bandage, and it is used both on humans and animals. It is marketed under a variety of trade names such as "Vetrap" by 3M for animal use, and it is commonly used on horses and other animals because it will not stick to hair so it is easily removed.
