Cronus is a small device that players connect to their controllers or PCs, which can be used with almost any console or controller and allows players to mod their gaming equipment to give them an unfair advantage in-game. Once connected, players attach ‘scripts’ to their Cronus which give them in-game benefits such as increased aim assist, rapid-fire mods, and no-recoil macros. The Cronus Zen is the newest iteration of the USB device, which plugs into a console or PC and then a controller is plugged into another port and gameplay can be altered. The device is for sale online and has been purchased by enough people to become a problem that Activision was forced to address in a RICOCHET Anti-Cheat update for Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, Vanguard, and other recent CoD titles where the device can be used. However, using third-party devices like Cronus with any online gaming service carries the risk of the game developer limiting or blocking the account, so it’s impossible to offer any guarantees. Cronus does not “hack” anything in the game, game console, PC, nor does it allow players to do anything that the game itself does not allow. It is considered a cheating device that gives players an unfair advantage in the game, and it is a bannable offense in Warzone.
