Damp skin refers to the condition of the skin right after washing your face, applying toner/essence, or dabbing it with a moist cloth that leaves behind just enough water for a moistened feel on the skin. It is neither dripping wet nor dry but just slightly wet. Damp skin is softer, smoother, and more hydrated than dry skin. Applying skincare products on damp skin increases absorption and reduces moist or wet feeling. Damp skin may help with better product absorption and spreadability. When skin is already damp, it’s hydrated, and the moisturizer can then either provide more hydration or just seal it in. To get damp skin, you need to pad off the water droplets with a clean towel. Damp skin does not have any water on the skin surface; it has absorbed some water, making it slightly more hydrated.
