Depth Strider is an enchantment in Minecraft that increases underwater movement speed. Every level of Depth Strider reduces the amount of water that slows the player by ⅓. The enchantment can be applied to boots using an enchanting table, anvil, or game command. The maximum level for the Depth Strider enchantment is Level 3, which allows the player to swim as quickly as they run on land. If there are dolphins nearby and they give the player a swim speed buff, it will stack with the Depth Strider boost. The enchantment is useful for escaping from monsters or other players while underwater.

According to the Minecraft Tools Enchantment Calculator, if a player has 30 XP levels, they have nearly a 40 percent chance of getting Depth Strider III on their boots. Alternatively, if a player has around 11-12 XP levels, they have an 11-12 percent chance of getting Depth Strider I.

Depth Strider is different from Underwater Strider, which only works when the player is totally submerged.
