In fantasy football, D/ST stands for Defense and Special Teams. It refers to a teams collective performance on defense and special teams throughout the course of a game. In traditional fantasy football leagues, you draft an entire teams defense and special teams, and this defense and special teams fill a starting spot on your roster. The fantasy defense earns points based on its performance on game day. Points can be earned for sacks, interceptions, not allowing touchdowns, yards allowed, and more. Most experienced fantasy players prefer to wait until later rounds of the draft to select a D/ST, as having a solid D/ST is generally considered to be less valuable than having an individual superstar player.
