Eid-e-Zahra is a celebration observed by most Twelver Shia Muslims, which marks the end of the two-month mourning period for the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala. It is celebrated on the 9th of Rabial Awwal, which is the day that follows the day of Arbaeen. This day is also known as the "Greatest Eid" in the sight of the AhlulBayt (peace be upon them) and those who love and follow them. It is a day of joy and happiness for the lovers of the AhlulBayt (peace be upon them). The day is also significant because it marks the beginning of the leadership of Imam Mehdi (ajtfs). The hadith which speaks about this day refers to it as the second Ghadeer.
