The environment refers to the totality of the surrounding conditions and elements in an individual, including physical, chemical, and other natural forces. It encompasses all living and non-living things occurring naturally, meaning in this case not artificial. The environment includes the sun, soil, water, air, and all living and non-living elements that influence human life. The concept of the natural environment can be distinguished as components: complete ecological units that function as natural systems without massive civilized human intervention, including all vegetation, microorganisms, soil, rocks, the atmosphere, and natural phenomena that occur within their boundaries and their nature. The environment can be divided into two categories: natural and built. The natural environment is where humans have not fundamentally transformed landscapes, while the built environment is where humans have transformed landscapes such as urban settings and agricultural land conversion. The environment plays a crucial role in human life, as it provides resources for production, sustains life, assimilates waste, and enhances the quality of life.
