eTorque is a mild hybrid system that is available on some RAM 1500 models. It replaces the traditional alternator with a 48-volt battery-powered, belt-drive motor generator that improves performance and efficiency, as well as bolstering towing and payload capacities. The eTorque system contains an electric motor that handles torque delivery, enhancing vehicle performance. It is an available option on the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and is a standard on the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. RAM has offered the HEMI with the eTorque mild-hybrid system since 2019, but for the 2023 model year, eTorque is now standard equipment.
