The EZ-IO system is a medical device that provides intraosseous access when vascular access is difficult to obtain in emergent, urgent, or medically necessary situations. It is a safe, fast, and effective method of delivering life-saving fluids or medication when peripheral venous access is not possible. The EZ-IO system provides immediate access via the intraosseous route for cases such as cardiac, shock, respiratory, and neurologic cases. It can be used as a reliable bridge until longer-term vascular access can be established, with up to 48-hour dwell time. The EZ-IO system is indicated for use in both civilian and military settings. It provides peripheral venous access with central venous catheter performance.
