Focused Inbox is a feature in Microsoft Outlook that separates your inbox into two tabs: Focused and Other. The Focused tab contains your most important email messages, while the rest of the emails are on the Other tab. The system uses artificial intelligence to pre-sort your email based on what it thinks is important to you. It takes into account emails and contacts with whom you interact and filters out noisy sources like automatically generated or bulk email. The more you use it, the better it gets. You can easily reclassify emails between Focused and Other by opening an email and selecting Move to Focused/Other from the overflow menu.
If you dont see Focused and Other in your mailbox, you might have a Clutter folder instead. In Outlook for Windows, Focused Inbox is available only for Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Outlook.com accounts. Focused Inbox works across all your email accounts, personal and professional.
To turn on Focused Inbox in Outlook, select the View tab and then select Show Focused Inbox. The Focused and Other tabs will appear at the top of your mailbox. You can switch between tabs any time to take a quick look. If youre not satisfied with the Focused Inbox feature, you can easily disable it from the Outlook app. If you like the feature, you can help improve it by identifying messages that were incorrectly sent to the Other tab.
