Ford MyKey is a feature available in Ford vehicles that allows you to program keys with restricted driving modes to promote good driving habits. You can limit your Ford vehicle’s top speed, max audio volume, require seat belt usage, and more. The MyKey feature allows you to configure one or more of your Ford keys to control your vehicle’s safety settings, even when you aren’t behind the wheel. When a programmed MyKey is inserted into the ignition, the system reads its transponder chip and identifies the MyKey code, which activates the settings you’ve selected. Drivers who access your Ford using their programmed MyKey will not be able to deactivate or change these settings, ensuring that your teen driver operates the vehicle responsibly. MyKey has three standard settings, including a constant chime alert for unbuckled driver and front passenger seat belts and automatically mutes the radio until belts are fastened.
