FOTG stands for "Face of the Group" in K-pop. It is an unofficial position given to the member of a K-pop group who is considered the representative of the group and draws the most attention and popularity from the general public. The FOTG is often invited to variety shows or represents the band at various public events. While the Visual is usually the most attractive member, the FOTG is the unofficial groups representative. The FOTG is frequently confused with the visual, but their primary function is to draw public attention to the group. The Leader can also serve as the FOTG, and sometimes, all members of a group are considered the "Face" of the group, and no single member holds the position solely. The FOTG can change on a regular basis as it is essentially a popularity-based position. Some fans may consider a member of FOTG as opposed to the one designated by the company. For example, Jennie of BLACKPINK is often considered the face by the Blinks. In some cases, the "Face" of the group is constantly changing. The industry may consider one member to be the Face, whereas fans may look to another.
