Frigg is a goddess in Norse mythology and one of the Æsir. She is associated with marriage, love, motherhood, fertility, and prophecy. Frigg is the wife of Odin, the All-Father, and the mother of Baldur, who is known as the wisest of the Aesir gods. She is also the mother of Hodor and Hermod. Frigg is the Queen of Asgard and the highest of the goddesses. Her home is called Fensalir, which means “hall of the marshlands”. Fridays are named after her, and according to myth, Friday is considered the best day to get married on. Frigg is sometimes associated with Freya, a goddess of the Vanir tribe, as they share some attributes. Frigg is known to have a group of women around her, including Fulla, who looks after Frigg’s special ash box and all her shoes and knows all of Frigg’s secrets, and Gna, who she sends off as a messenger.
