Ganeshotsav pandals with huge idols are known as "Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav". These are temporary stages or shelters where the Ganesh idols and accompanying Musti are installed. Public preparations for these pandals begin months in advance, and they are organized by local youth groups, neighborhood associations, or groups of tradespeople. The pandals are decorated with unique and creative themes every year, and each one exudes a unique charm, combining religious fervor with artistic expressions.

In Mumbai, some of the most famous Ganpati pandals include Lalbaugcha Raja, Ganesh Gali Mandal, and GSB Seva Mandal. Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the most popular Ganesh idols in Mumbai and is identified with Ganeshotsav in Mumbai. Ganesh Gali Mandal is famous for promoting eco-friendly Ganeshotsav by creating a natural idol of Ganesha that’s environmentally friendly. GSB Seva Mandal is known as Mumbais richest pandal, and the Ganesh idol is heavily adorned with gold and silver ornaments.

In Nagpur, the biggest pandal is Dharampeth Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav, though the pandals and idols are not as big as those in Pune and Mumbai. Hyderabad also celebrates the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav with high enthusiasm and enjoyment, and Khairtabad Ganesh Pandal is traditionally the largest Ganesh pandal in Hyderabad.
