GCC experience refers to having experience with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The GCC was formed in 1981 and consists of six countries that have similar economic, social, and political systems. These countries are:
- United Arab Emirates
- Bahrain
- Saudi Arabia
- Oman
- Qatar
- Kuwait
Having GCC experience allows one to work in any Arab country. In sales and marketing, GCC experience is market-specific and pays off immediately on the job when hired. However, there is added value from candidates who worked in more sophisticated markets if the experience is required in GCC. In finance, GCC experience should be related to understanding local taxation regulations and ways to reduce government fees. In logistics and governmental roles, it is all about who you know and ways and local rates and prices. In the car industry, it is pure sales skills and language.
The GCC offers tremendous potential for cooperation in trade, investment, energy, manpower, etc. . India enjoys traditionally cordial relations and cooperation with the GCC. India’s old, historical ties with GCC states, coupled with increasing imports of oil and gas, growing trade and investment opportunities, and the presence of approximately 6 million Indians in the region, have contributed to the strengthening of India’s relations with the GCC.
