Halloween III: Season of the Witch is a 1982 American science fiction horror film and the third installment in the Halloween film series. Unlike the previous two films, it does not feature the series antagonist, Michael Myers. The film tells the story of a mask-making company called Silver Shamrock, which is trying to turn childrens heads into mush through an elaborate Druid sacrifice to the gods. The company has taken the nation by storm with its Halloween masks, but little do the parents know that when the children wear these masks and watch a commercial on Halloween, they will all die. The film centers on Dr. Daniel Challis and Ellie Grimbridge, who uncover the terrible plot by Silver Shamrock owner Conal Cochran. The movie is a blend of witchcraft and technology, and it serves as an unsettling takedown of television, advertising, and wider corporate America. The film is accidentally funny at times, and it has almost nothing to do with Michael Myers or the first two Halloween movies, other than a few jokey references to the original. Halloween III has become a cult classic over the years, and it has garnered a new appreciation from horror fans.
