Heavenly Restriction is a term used in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga series. It refers to a binding or tradeoff on a jujutsu sorcerers body that is present from birth. The bindings are usually limitations on the human body, and they can result in increased abilities in a different capacity of their lives. The terms of heavenly restriction vary from shaman to shaman, and sometimes it results in a boost of cursed energy range or physical prowess. On the other hand, it might also take away cursed energy or entire body parts, depending on the case. Heavenly Restriction is a form of cursed restriction that alters the individuals cursed energy in exchange for improvement or limitations on their physical abilities. A person with Heavenly Restriction may be born with low cursed energy but exceptional physical prowess, and vice versa, one may be born with exceedingly high cursed energy but with a weak body.

Toji and Maki are two characters in the series who have Heavenly Restriction. Toji was born without cursed energy, and he defeated two of the strongest sorcerers, Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru. Maki, on the other hand, possesses a minimal amount of cursed energy, and her Heavenly Restriction increased her natural physical prowess in exchange for lowering her cursed energy levels to that of a civilian.
