Hide Alerts is a feature in the Messages app on iPhone that allows you to disable notifications for a particular conversation. When you enable this feature for a conversation, you won’t receive any notifications from that conversation, but you’ll still receive notifications for other messages. This feature is useful when you want to minimize distractions and stay focused on the task at hand.
To enable Hide Alerts for a conversation in the Messages app on iPhone, follow these steps:
- Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
- Navigate to the conversation you want to hide alerts for.
- Swipe left over the conversation.
- Tap the Hide Alerts button.
When Hide Alerts is on, the Alerts button appears next to the conversation. This stops notifications only for that conversation, not your device. You’ll still receive all other messages and see notifications for them on your Lock Screen.
The other person will not receive any notification when they send you a message if you have enabled Hide Alerts for that conversation. This means that they won’t see any banner or alert on their screen, nor will they hear any sound or feel any vibration when they send you a message. However, the conversation will still appear in your Messages app, and you can view it at any time.
