The Ikon Pass is a ski and snowboard pass that provides access to over 50 ski resorts across the world. It was introduced in January 2018 by Alterra Mountain Company, a conglomerate of several ski resorts in North America. The pass offers unlimited, 7-day, and 7-day combined access with no blackout dates at 14 unique destinations worldwide, plus up to 7 days at another 35 resorts worldwide. The pass is available for purchase between late April and December each year, and it is a cheaper option than paying last-minute window ticket prices. The Ikon Pass is owned and operated by Alterra Mountain Company, which is privately owned by KSL Capital Partners and Henry Crown and Company, the owners of Aspen/Snowmass. The pass is a competitor to Vail Resorts Epic Pass. The Ikon Pass has several options and levels, including the "full monty" pass, which provides unlimited access to all 50-plus resorts with no restrictions or blackout dates, and other choices that are more limited in the number of resorts accessed with selected blackout dates. The pass also offers new perks for pass holders during the 2023-24 season, such as the Adventure Assurance program, which allows pass holders to defer their pass until the 2023-24 ski season if necessary, and Zero-day credits available in the event of resort closures due to COVID-19.
