Interaction design, often abbreviated as IxD, is the practice of designing interactive digital products, environments, systems, and services. It is a subset of user experience (UX) design that focuses on the interactive experience between users and products. Interaction design involves understanding the context in which the product will be used, identifying user goals and behaviors, and developing design solutions that are responsive to user needs and expectations. It borrows from a wide range of fields like psychology, human-computer interaction, information architecture, and user research to create designs that are tailored to the needs and preferences of users. Interaction designers handle tasks such as design strategy, wireframes and prototypes, and usability testing. The goal of interaction design is to create products that enable the user to achieve their objective(s) in the best way possible.
