An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique string of numbers that identifies devices connected to the internet or a local area network. In the context of Wi-Fi, every device that connects to your internet network has a private IP address, including computers, smartphones, and tablets, as well as any Bluetooth-enabled devices like speakers, printers, or smart TVs. Your router needs a way to identify these items separately, and many items need a way to recognize each other.

Every device connected to the same Wi-Fi router will have a different local address, but share the routers unique public IP address. If you want to access the administrative dashboard of your Wi-Fi router, youll need its local IP address. A router IP address is a string of numbers and decimals, and its not tough to find out what it is as long as youre able to connect to the network.

To find your routers IP address, you can follow these steps:

• Open Settings, and tap Network & internet.
• Tap Wi-Fi. Click the settings icon next to your wireless network.
• Next, tap Advanced, and select Static if prompted.
• Youll find your routers IP address listed under Gateway.

Alternatively, you can use the command prompt or gain access to it through the control panel.
