The ISM Services Survey, also known as the ISM Non-Manufacturing Index, is a monthly economic indicator that measures the performance of the US services sector. The survey is conducted by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and is part of the ISM Report On Business, which also includes the ISM Manufacturing Index. The ISM Services Survey measures business activity for the overall economy, including employment, production, new orders, prices, and inventories, among other factors. The report contains the economic activity of more than 15 industries, such as finance and insurance, health care and social assistance, and retail trade, among others. A reading above 50 indicates growth, while a reading below 50 indicates contraction. The ISM Services Survey provides guidance to supply management professionals, business leaders, economists, and government officials by monitoring the economic conditions of the nation.
