Jam is a new feature on Spotify that allows users to create a real-time listening session for their friends and family. It is a way for participants to contribute to a shared queue and listen and discover music together. Premium subscribers can start a Jam and invite others to contribute through a shared queue, while Free users can join and add songs to the Jam. Jam combines personalization technology with social features to take real-time listening with friends to the next level.

To start a Jam, Premium listeners can select a playlist or song they are excited about and click the "Start a Jam" button by clicking the speaker icon at the bottom of their screen or by hitting the three-dot menu within their favorite playlist. They can then invite a group of friends or family, whether they are Free or Premium users, to share the experience. Once a Jam is started, participants can see who added which track so they know whom to thank for that crowd pleaser.

Premium subscribers hosting a session can manage who’s in the Jam, the track order, and remove any songs from the lineup by default. Hosts can also enable guest controls that give other Jam participants the ability to remove tracks or change the song order. Participants can add songs to the queue by tapping on the kebab menu of a song and selecting "Add to queue".

Jam is available to all Spotify users globally and can be accessed through the Spotify app.
