JCI stands for Junior Chamber International, which is a non-profit international non-governmental organization of young people between 18 and 40 years old. It has members in about 124 countries, and regional or national organizations in most of them. JCI encourages young people to become active citizens and to participate in efforts towards social and economic development, international cooperation, good-will, and understanding. JCI members take initiative to solve local challenges and focus on sustainable impact locally and globally. JCI is different from other non-profits in that it gathers active citizens from all sectors of society and develops the skills, knowledge, and understanding to make informed decisions and take action. JCI members are bright, diverse, and enterprising young people from around the world who create positive change across their communities while building professional skills.
