Judaism has several holy places that are considered special and hold significant meaning for believers. The most important holy place in Judaism is the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, which is believed to be the site where direct communication took place between the High Priest and God. It is also where the biblical Jewish Temples stood thousands of years ago and is considered the holiest site in Judaism. The Western Wall, located in the heart of the Old City in Jerusalem, is the holiest place where Jews can pray and draws Jews from around the world. Other holy places in Judaism include:

• King Davids Tomb: Considered to be one of the holiest sites in Israel, this tomb is located opposite the Old Citys Zion Gate and is considered to be the burial place of King David.

• Rachels Tomb: Jews believe that this site is the burial place of matriarch Rachel and is located in the northern entrance of the City of Bethlehem.

• Hebron: This is the home and burial site of the ancient patriarchs and matriarchs of the Bible, as well as the first capital of King David.

• Tiberias: After the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 C.E., Tiberias became a seat of learning where the Palestinian Talmud was chiefly composed.

• Safed: This is where Jewish mysticism flourished in the sixteenth century and where many ancient rabbis are buried.

Israel itself is also considered a very sacred place to Jewish people, and Jews who do not live there try to visit at some point in their lives. In particular, Jerusalem is a significant holy place for Jews.
