Last Chance U is an American documentary streaming television series produced and premiered by Netflix. The series explores the football program at East Mississippi Community College, which features several collegiate athletes that have had trouble in their lives and struggled with finding structure. The show has several seasons, including a spin-off series called Last Chance U: Basketball. The series follows the lives of junior college athletes who are trying to make it to the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s top division of sports, but either didn’t have the grades coming out of high school or didn’t have their heads on straight when they were at four-year schools. The shared goal among players at the focus of Last Chance U is to leave junior college (JUCO) football behind for bigger and better opportunities. The show has featured several players who have gone on to play in the NFL, such as Rejzohn Wright, John Franklin III, and Dakota Allen. The show has been praised for its authenticity and unfiltered access to the coaches and players.
