Low Power Mode is a feature on iPhones that reduces the amount of power that the device uses when the battery gets low. It is designed to help extend the life of the battery by disabling some iPhone features that are not essential. When the battery drops to 20%, the iPhone will ask if you want to turn on Low Power Mode, and then again at 10% . You can also manually activate Low Power Mode in the Settings app. When Low Power Mode is enabled, the battery icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen will turn yellow.
Here are some of the changes that Low Power Mode makes to conserve your batterys charge:
- Turns off 5G (except for video streaming)
- Sets your iPhone screen to turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity
- Reduces display brightness
- Disables automatic mail fetching
- Disables apps from refreshing in the background
- Takes other power-saving actions
Low Power Mode is fairly aggressive, which is why it isnt enabled all the time. It can make your phone’s battery last longer, so it is “a feature you may want to use quite often” . However, it is not recommended to use it all the time as it disables some features that you may need.
