Loxicom is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to control pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs. It contains the active ingredient meloxicam, which is also used to relieve pain, inflammation, and fever in dogs and cats. Loxicom is available as an oral suspension and can be given either mixed with food or placed directly into the dogs mouth. The dosage should be carefully measured as directed by a veterinarian, and particular care should be given with regard to the accuracy of dosing. To prevent accidental overdosing of small dogs, only use the small dosing syringe provided, and for dogs over 30 lbs, use the large dosing syringe provided. Loxicom is indicated for the control of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs. It is important to note that Loxicom should not be given to pets that have ulcers or have had them in the past, pets that have pre-existing heart conditions, pets that are old, weak, or frail, and pets that have a bleeding disorder.
