"Meri Mati Mera Desh" is a campaign launched by the Government of India as part of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebration to commemorate the nations journey of freedom and progress. The campaign aims to honor and appreciate the martyred bravehearts who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country. It envisions a unified celebration of Indias soil and valour, connecting with the land and honoring the heroes, instilling a sense of national pride and inspiring future generations to protect Indias cherished heritage. The campaign started on August 9, 2023, and will continue until August 15, 2023. The campaign includes various events and activities to enhance interaction and promote mutual understanding between people of different states/UTs, such as the dedication of Shilaphalakam, installation of the nameplate of Veers, taking the Panch Pran Pledge, creation of Amrit Vatika with 75 saplings of indigenous trees, and honoring freedom fighters/braves who protect the nation and families of braves. The campaign will include programs at the village and block levels by local urban bodies, as well as a mega event proposed in New Delhi from August 9 to August 15, 2023, in which 75,000 youth from across the country will participate. The campaigns primary objective is to pay tribute to the courageous freedom fighters and heroes who selflessly gave their lives for the nations cause.
