NAT stands for Network Address Translation and is a type of network configuration that can restrict traffic flow in and out of your Xbox console. Your NAT type is determined by the settings or features of the router on the network you are using to connect to the internet. There are three NAT types:

• Open (NAT Type 1): This is the best NAT type, allowing you to connect to other players and host internet servers easily.

• Moderate (NAT Type 2): This NAT type allows you to connect to Open and other Moderate clients.

• Strict (NAT Type 3): This is the worst NAT type, which can prevent communication with other players or cause latency issues.

Your NAT type determines whether you can successfully use multiplayer gaming or party chat. When encountering connectivity issues on Xbox One, your NAT type is the first place to look. If you have a Moderate or Strict NAT type, you may need to change it to Open to improve your connectivity.

To change your NAT type on Xbox One, you can try the following steps:

1. Run Xbox Network Troubleshooter.
2. Enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on your router.
3. Place your Xboxs IP address in the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) zone on your router.
4. Port forward your Xbox on your router.
