Nebraska's minimum wage is scheduled to increase as follows:
- $12.00 per hour starting January 1, 2024
- $13.50 per hour starting January 1, 2025
- $15.00 per hour starting January 1, 2026
Beginning January 1, 2027, the minimum wage will be adjusted annually based on the cost of living, measured by the Consumer Price Index for the Midwest Region
. For tipped employees, the minimum cash wage is $2.13 per hour, but their total earnings (wages plus tips) must at least equal the applicable minimum wage for all hours worked
. These changes are the result of a voter-approved initiative passed in November 2022, and employers in Nebraska must comply with these scheduled increases
