Operational feasibility is a measure of how well a proposed system solves problems and takes advantage of opportunities identified during scope definition, and how it satisfies the requirements identified in the requirements analysis phase of system development. It evaluates whether the proposed development project fits in with the existing business environment and objectives, including corporate culture and existing business processes. Operational feasibility reviews the willingness of the organization to support the proposed system, which can be difficult to gauge. An operational feasibility study evaluates whether or not an organization has the resources, skills, and competencies to complete a project, including staffing requirements, organizational structure, and any applicable legal requirements. It is one of the four main elements that go into a feasibility study, along with technical feasibility, financial feasibility, and market feasibility.
