OSH stands for Occupational Safety and Health, which is a multidisciplinary field concerned with the safety, health, and welfare of people at work. It is commonly referred to as occupational health and safety (OHS), occupational health, or workplace health and safety (WHS). The goal of OSH programs is to foster a safe and healthy work environment, and it also protects co-workers, family members, employers, customers, and many others who might be affected by the workplace environment. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created by the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for workers by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance.
