PADRE is a location in Season 8 of AMCs Fear the Walking Dead). It used to be an old island fort, and nothing is known of its history except for this). The term "PADRE" was initially used as an acronym P.A.D.R.E. as a classified location set up by the United States government thought to contain supplies and instructions on how to rebuild after a catastrophe. However, since then, it appears that someone has taken on the moniker Padre and is running the child abduction ring that the survivors now find themselves a part of in season 8. By the end of season 7, Madison and Morgan are heading to PADRE in a small boat while blindfolded, and viewers see a larger boat in the distance. Showrunners shared that this boat isn’t PADRE, but it will take the pair to the location. The larger boat hints at how PADRE has such a vast reach. In season 8, more information is revealed about PADRE, and viewers learn that the US Army General Krennick oversees the program. The island is surrounded by swamp, and it is the site of a military shipyard storing shipping containers marked P.A.D.R.E, each filled with sufficient supplies for survivors to seed new communities across the United States. Overseeing the program is U.S. Army General Krennick, a birder who instructs his children to communicate over the radio with code names for their safety. Samantha is christened "Shrike," and Ben is "Crane". The third episode of season 8 lifts the veil on PADRE, and it is revealed that they were trying to rewrite the way people live, all rooted in connection, the very thing that PADRE now is trying to eradicate.
