PMM stands for Product Marketing Manager. A Product Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing all of the marketing programs of new and/or existing products. They are primarily responsible for a products positioning, messaging, and branding. The PMMs job is to understand the products value proposition and turn that information into compelling messages for the market. They are responsible for a variety of deliverables and are a fundamental part of the product lifecycle. Some of the key responsibilities of a PMM include understanding the customers and defining the market, gathering and processing customer feedback, driving account expansion through upsells and cross-sells, and facilitating effective communication. PMMs rely heavily on their research and analysis skills, both quantitative and qualitative varieties. They frequently conduct market analysis to see how their products stack up against the competition and fit into the overall industry landscape. Additionally, they must analyze the performance and effectiveness of their various go-to-market activities.
