In Formula 1, the podium is the name given to the rostrum on which prizes are awarded to the three highest-placed drivers at the end of a Grand Prix. The winner stands in the middle, with the second-placed driver to their right and the third-placed driver to their left. The term "podium finish" is used to describe any of the top three positions in a race, and it is considered one of the greatest achievements in F1. After the completion of a Formula 1 race, a podium ceremony takes place to honor the races best competitors. The ceremony honors the race's three top drivers, who are awarded prizes that they collect on top of the podium. A representative of the team that won the race may also be present at the podium, with a fourth podium step, trophy, and champagne.
