Positive thinking is the practice of focusing on the good in any given situation, approaching the good and the bad in life with the expectation that things will go well. It does not mean ignoring reality or making light of problems, but rather making the most of potential. Positive thinking is a philosophy that asserts that having an optimistic disposition in every situation in ones life attracts positive changes and increases achievement. It is the opposite of negativity, defeatism, and hopelessness. Positive thinking has many benefits, including reducing stress, improving mental and physical health, and increasing life satisfaction. Positive thinking does not mean that you ignore facts or logic or force yourself to have only positive emotions. Instead, it means that you approach negative news or stressful situations with a positive outlook, acknowledging and processing the negative aspects but understanding that you will get through it. Positive thinking often starts with self-talk, and it takes practice to develop a positive attitude.
