A PRC ID, also known as a Professional Identification Card or PRC license, is a valid government-issued ID that certifies the holder is a registered professional in the Philippines and has the legal authority to practice a profession. It is issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), an agency attached to the Department of Labor and Employment that supervises the practice of highly skilled professionals in the Philippines. The PRC ID is required for professionals such as architects, engineers, doctors, dentists, accountants, and veterinarians. To obtain a PRC ID, one must pass the professional licensure examination and complete the initial registration process. The PRC ID is honored as a valid government-issued ID in transactions with government agencies, banks, and other institutions, and is also required in job applications for certain positions such as teacher, nurse, radiologic technician, occupational/physical therapist, and real estate broker. A digital copy of the PRC ID is also accepted as a valid ID. If a PRC ID is lost, it can be replaced through the PRC Online Services.
