The QAB charges in Bank of Baroda refer to the charges imposed on customers who fail to maintain the minimum Quarterly Average Balance (QAB) required in their savings account. The minimum QAB varies depending on the location of the branch, with different amounts for metro, urban, semi-urban, and rural branches. As of October 2023, the minimum QAB requirements for Baroda Advantage Savings Account are as follows:

  • Metro/Urban: Rs. 3,000
  • Semi-Urban: Rs. 2,000
  • Rural: Rs. 1,000

If a customer fails to maintain the minimum QAB, they will be charged a penalty. The maximum charges for non-maintenance of minimum QAB are Rs. 200 for metro and urban branches and Rs. 100 for semi-urban branches. The slabs for charges applicable are different for different locations and are as follows:

  • Metro & Urban
    • Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1999: 50%
    • Rs. 500 to Rs. 999: 80%
    • Below Rs. 500: 100%
  • Semi-Urban
    • Rs. 500 to Rs. 999: 50%
    • Rs. 250 to Rs. 499: 80%
    • Below Rs. 250: 100%

It is important to maintain the revised quarterly average balance in the account to avoid non-maintenance of minimum balance charges.
