Quiet mode is a feature on Instagram that allows users to pause notifications and set boundaries with their friends and followers. When enabled, it automatically updates your activity status, mutes your notifications, and creates an auto-reply to your DMs. The feature is available to all Instagram users in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Once enabled, you wont receive any notifications, and your profiles activity status will change to "Quiet Mode". If someone sends you a DM, they will receive an autoreply. You can customize your Quiet mode hours to fit your schedule, and once the feature is turned off, youll get a brief summary of notifications you missed.
To turn on Quiet mode on Instagram, follow these steps:
- Open the Instagram app.
- Tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the three-line menu from the top right corner.
- Select Settings and Privacy option.
- On the next screen, select Notifications.
- Tap on Quiet Mode.
- Push the Quiet Mode slider to the right.
- Choose how long you want Quiet Mode on. You can set it to turn on automatically and stay on for up to 12 hours.
If you wish to use Quiet mode for more than 12 hours straight, youll have to resort to using your phones Do Not Disturb (DND) mode or turn off the Instagram apps notifications altogether.
