Raise to Wake is a feature available on iPhones and iPads starting with the iPhone X and third-generation iPad Pro. When enabled, it turns on the screen of the device when it is lifted from a flat surface, making it easy to see notifications without having to tap the screen or push any buttons. To turn on or off Raise to Wake, go to Settings > Display & Brightness. If you use Raise to Wake, lifting and looking at your iPhone wakes your device as usual. You can also swipe up from the bottom of your display to wake iPhone and activate Face ID authentication. If you want to turn off Raise to Wake, you can do so by following these steps:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Display & Brightness.
- Toggle Raise to Wake off (gray) or on (green).
Once you turn off Raise to Wake, you can turn on your phone by either tapping the screen or pressing the lock button.
