Rocky Top is a city in Anderson and Campbell counties in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Tennessee, northwest of Knoxville. It was formerly known as Coal Creek and Lake City. The city is located on Interstate 75 in Anderson and Campbell County in beautiful East Tennessee, and is twenty miles north of Downtown Knoxville. Rocky Top offers access to the beautiful Norris Lake, Norris Dam State Park, and WindRock Park, which is the largest off-road recreation area in the country. Rocky Top is the only place in Tennessee where people can ride ATVs on the roads year-round and have direct access to WindRock Park Trails.

Rocky Top is also the name of a bluegrass song originally performed by the Osborne Brothers in 1967. The song is one of Tennessees ten official state songs and has been recorded by dozens of artists from multiple musical genres worldwide since its publication. In U.S. college athletics, "Rocky Top" is associated with the Tennessee Volunteers of the University of Tennessee (UT), whose Pride of the Southland Band has played a marching band version of the song at the schools sporting events since the early 1970s. The song is a favorite of UT fans, alumni, and others who sing it while the Tennessee Volunteers play at Neyland Stadium and Thompson–Boling Arena.

While the Bryants never indicated that "Rocky Top, Tennessee" refers to a specific place, some have suggested that a 5,440-foot barren summit known as "Rocky Top" located in the Great Smoky Mountains along the Tennessee-North Carolina border is the best fit, due in large part to its proximity to Gatlinburg, where the song was written in Room 388 of The Gatlinburg Inn in 1967 by Boudleaux and Felice Bryant. There is now a city in Tennessee that has taken on the name, but they may not be able to compete with Knoxville and the Volunteers when it comes to nickname recognition.
