Sarva Darshan is a free darshan where pilgrims wait for their turn to catch a glimpse of Lord Venkateswara in the compartments of Vaikuntham Queue Complex II. More than 60,000 to 80,000 pilgrims visit the Sri Venkateswara Temple every day, and TTD has initiated efficient systems of darshan for the sake of the multitude of visiting pilgrims in Tirumala. The timings for Sarva Darshan are different on different days of the week, and on normal days, about 18 hours are allotted for Sarva Darshan, while on peak days, it is open for 20 hours. The entrance for this darshan is through the Vaikuntam Queue Complex, which is a series of inter-connected halls that leads to the main temple. An efficient queue system ensures that pilgrims move in an orderly fashion through the Queue Complex towards the main temple. The halls in the Queue Complex are clean, spacious, and airy, and TTD provides a wide range of facilities in the Queue Complex, including Annaprasadam provided for the waiting pilgrims free of cost.
In addition to Sarva Darshan, there is also a Time Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) system, which is a darshan where devotees have the darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy free of cost without waiting in the Q-line for long hours. To have this darshan, pilgrims must get the tokens from Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) counters in Tirupati and report at the time mentioned in the token. After completing the darshan, a Ladoo will be given free of cost to the pilgrims after submitting the token at the Ladoo complex located outside the Temple. The TTD introduced the Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) system in 2016 to provide hassle-free darshan to the devotees, and the system allows devotees to schedule a time slot of their choice and then report directly at the Vaikuntam queue complex for darshan at the given time. The issuing of SSD tokens was suspended on April 12, 2022, following a melee at a token counter in Tirupati, but it was reintroduced on November 1, 2022, at the designated counters in Tirupati.
In summary, Sarva Darshan is a free darshan where pilgrims wait for their turn to catch a glimpse of Lord Venkateswara in the compartments of Vaikuntham Queue Complex II, while Time Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) is a darshan where devotees have the darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy free of cost without waiting in the Q-line for long hours.
