Self-actualization is a concept in psychology that refers to the process of fulfilling ones true potential and becoming the best version of oneself. It is the highest level of psychological development in Maslows hierarchy of needs, where personal potential is fully realized after basic bodily and ego needs have been fulfilled. Self-actualization involves the full realization of ones creative, intellectual, and social potential through internal intuitive systems. It is an ongoing process of maintaining and enhancing an individuals self-concept through reflection, reinterpretation of experience, and the realization of ones capabilities.

According to Maslow, self-actualization means the desire for self-fulfillment, or a persons tendency to be actualized in what he or she is potentially. Self-actualized people are characterized by their ability to accept themselves and others, their ability to focus on problems outside of themselves, their ability to be spontaneous and creative, and their ability to have a sense of purpose.

Self-actualization is not about hitting a milestone and achieving a goal, but rather the process of becoming who you are in terms of self-awareness, fulfillment, appreciation, and satisfaction. It is a lifelong process that involves letting go of limiting beliefs, developing self-awareness, and pursuing personal growth.
