Sidecar is a feature on macOS and iPadOS that allows you to use your iPad as a second display for your Mac. With Sidecar, you can extend your desktop by showing different apps or windows on your iPad, or instead make it show the same ones you see on your Mac. You can use Sidecar wirelessly, but to do so, both devices must be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other and have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Handoff turned on. To set up Sidecar, you need to make sure that your Mac and iPad meet the Sidecar system requirements, including that each is signed with the same Apple ID. Once you have confirmed that your devices meet the requirements, you can set up Sidecar by following the steps provided by Apple. Some additional features of Sidecar include the ability to use the Touch Bar on your iPad screen even if your Mac doesn’t have a Touch Bar, and the ability to use Apple Pencil to control things on your iPad.
