Spiritual warfare is a term used in Christianity to describe the battle against preternatural evil forces, based on the belief in evil spirits or demons that intervene in human affairs in various ways. It is a battle against the spiritual forces of evil, not against flesh and blood. The battle is fought against Satan, his followers (demons), and sin, which can be lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, or pride of life. The goal of spiritual warfare is to resist the devils schemes as we give ourselves to Gods work. Here are some key points to understand about spiritual warfare:

  • The battle is real: Spiritual warfare is a constant battle that Christians face against unseen enemies. It is a battle between the spirit and the flesh.

  • The enemy: The enemies of God include Satan, his minions (demons and fallen angels), and sin. The battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

  • The armor of God: To fight the battle, Christians must put on the whole armor of God, which includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit.

  • The power of prayer and the Bible: Christians must be a people of prayer and the Bible to fight the battle correctly. The Holy Spirit is our link to the Commander and Chief of the Universe, our Heavenly Father.

  • The victory: The battles we face are not fought with the power of man, but with the power of God. Jesus has already won the war in the heavens. We are either victors or victims.
