Stitch is a feature on TikTok that allows users to combine another video on TikTok with one theyre creating. If you allow another person to Stitch with your video, they can use a part of your video as a part of their own video. Stitching allows you to build on other creators’ content to produce something new and unique. You can use up to five seconds of another person’s video in your stitch.
To Stitch a video on TikTok, you need to follow these steps:
- In the TikTok app, tap the Share button on the side of the video youd like to Stitch.
- Tap Stitch at the bottom.
- Choose the part of the video youd like to Stitch, then tap Next.
- Choose from the filming options on the side panel.
- Tap the Record button to start and stop your recording, then tap the check mark.
- Edit your video, then tap Next.
- Adjust your settings, write a caption, and tap Post.
Not all videos have Stitch enabled, and users can decide in their settings whether or not others can Stitch their content. The option can be accessed on the Privacy and Safety page under Settings and Privacy, where users can enable or disable Stitch for all videos. The option can also be toggled for each individual video uploaded. Every video made with Stitch attributes the original creator in the new videos caption, and the caption attribution links directly to the original, clipped video.
