In wrestling, technical superiority or technical fall is a victory condition satisfied by outscoring ones opponent by a specified number of points. The number of points required for a technical fall varies depending on the level of competition and the wrestling style. For example, in scholastic wrestling, a differential of fifteen points ends the match regardless of when it is reached. In collegiate wrestling, a pin may still be awarded as a continuation of a near fall even if the necessary point differential is reached while achieving it. In freestyle wrestling, a technical fall occurs once a wrestler leads by 10 points. If a wrestler wins two out of three periods in this way, they are then the winner of the match by technical superiority. Technical points are awarded for various moves and actions during a wrestling match, and the accumulation of these points can lead to a technical fall.
